2 years ago, while I was working in Venture Banking in LA, I saw a need for CFO services. Companies I worked with couldn’t afford a full time CFO but desperately needed financial help from someone with experience in their industry. After evaluating pitch decks & models on a daily basis, I gained a detailed understanding of what investors needed to see and what companies who self financed needed to achieve in order to scale effectively.  Square Root Financial was born as a side project but quickly turned into its own entity with interim CFOs, accountants & bookkeepers and clients in LA, San Francisco & New York.

As a CPA-turned-entrepreneur, I’m passionate about helping early stage technology and other high growth companies. After working with startups & emerging growth companies, I realize the same issues come up again and again.

While I always speak with my clients about potential issues, I want to use this blog to share these real life experiences in the hopes that my clients, and companies that aren’t my clients, will be able to avoid the pitfalls and be prepared for anything financial/accounting related that comes their way.
